American Water Charitable Foundation Partners with National Urban League for Third Consecutive Year on Workforce Development

CAMDEN, N.J., Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., announced today that it awarded a $260,000 Corporate Strategic grant to the National Urban League, supporting the Affiliate Movement. Funding will support workforce development programs that expand skills, education, and opportunity in communities served by American Water.

Founded in 1910, the National Urban League advances economic empowerment through programs focused on education, worforce and career development, housing and community development, entrepreneurship, health, and quality of life.
Through the National Urban League's Affiliate Movement, the grant will support workforce development programs delivered by the following affiliates:
- Chicago Urban League
- Greater Sacramento Urban League
- Urban League of Greater Chattanooga
- Urban League of Greater Philadelphia
- Urban League of Lexington-Fayette County
- Urban League of Metropolitan Saint Louis
- Urban League of Northwest Indiana
- Urban League of Union County
