PITTSBURGH, May 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- "Texting while driving is the leading cause of distracted driving deaths," said an inventor, from Montgomery, Ala., "so I invented the NORAD. This solution doesn't just help people make the right choice - it removes the wrong one. It also offers families and institutions the peace of mind and deterrence against drunk driving without invasive mechanisms."
The patented invention proactively prevents a driver from texting while a vehicle is in motion. In doing so, it features integrated motion sensors and mobile-interlock synchronization to detect when the vehicle is operated, and it immediately disables outbound texting functions on connected devices unless stopped or parked. The invention also includes a built-in breath analysis feature to detect potential driver intoxication before operation, and the ignition remains locked until a safe state is confirmed. Additionally, the invention cannot be bypassed by the driver, it is compatible with popular smartphone systems, and there is an option for an emergency override. A prototype model and technical drawings are available upon request.
The original design was submitted to the Birmingham sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
