New Orleans-Area Couples Can Attend Nov. 14 Conference on Marriage and Communication
Metairie, United States - September 6, 2026 / Faith and Marriage /
The Faith and Marriage Apostolate of the Willwoods Community, in partnership with the Archdiocese of New Orleans Family Life Office and St. Catherine of Siena Marriage Ministry, will host the 2026 NOLA Marriage Conference on Nov. 14 at St. Catherine of Siena Church Parish in Metairie. The conference, titled "Cracking the Communication Code," brings couples together for a full day centered on strengthening communication, deepening connection, and building more intentional marriages.
The one-day event is structured to equip couples with practical tools applicable to everyday relationships. Sessions will address common communication challenges and offer spouses concrete ways to better understand one another. The conference is open to couples of all faith backgrounds, with registration priced at $100 per couple.
"Every couple wants to be known and loved," according to Faith & Marriage. "But somewhere between the daily routine and the unspoken expectations, something vital gets lost in translation." The conference is designed to help couples bridge those gaps with greater understanding, practical communication tools and a renewed vision for their marriage.
The conference will feature Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, New York Times bestselling author of Love & Respect and founder of Love and Respect Ministries. Eggerichs has spent five decades counseling couples and studying marriage, communication, and relationships through scientific and biblical research. His sessions will address the "Crazy Cycle" and the "Energizing & Rewarding Cycle," concepts drawn from his work on communication dynamics between husbands and wives.
Additional speakers include Jason Angelette, director of Faith & Marriage; married couples Eric and Nicole Cedor and Jean and Janice Charbonnet, who will share personal testimonies; and Scott and Michelle Macicek, who will serve as the host couple representing St. Catherine of Siena.
The conference welcomes couples who have a genuine desire to seek the best for their spouse and are interested in exploring ways to deepen their understanding of one another and their relationship with God.
The schedule begins with check-in at 7:15 a.m., followed by Mass at 8 a.m. Morning sessions will include a presentation by Angelette, a testimony from the Charbonnets, and Eggerichs' first session. Lunch will be provided at 11:45 a.m., followed by a testimony from the Cedors and Eggerichs' second session. The day concludes with prayer and a blessing at 2:30 p.m. and dismissal at 2:45 p.m.
