Nearly 70 Southern California Travel Professionals Connect with Taiwan's Tourism Industry
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) concluded its U.S. workshop series in Los Angeles on Sept. 18, connecting nearly 70 Southern California travel professionals with Taiwan's tourism industry. The event marked the final stop of a three-city series held Sept. 14–18, 2026 in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, bringing together Taiwanese travel agencies, hotels and airlines with U.S. travel professionals for business meetings and product discussions.
In 2025, more than 710,000 visitors from the United States traveled to Taiwan, with nearly 60% visiting for tourism purposes, a record high for the destination. Supporting this growth is Taiwan's strong air connectivity, with more than 200 weekly round-trip flights linking the destination to 13 major North American cities. "Taiwan offers visitors a unique balance of tradition and modernity," said Jason Ma, Director General of the Taiwan Mission in Los Angeles. "We hope to continue strengthening tourism cooperation between Taiwan and the United States."
The workshop featured Taiwan's "Never Sleep" concept, highlighting experiences from morning markets and breakfast culture to Michelin-recognized dining and night markets. New products focused on nighttime exploration and sunrise excursions were also introduced.
"By encouraging travelers to stay longer, return to Taiwan and explore beyond their previous itineraries, we hope to introduce visitors to new sides of Taiwan," said Vivian Lin, Director of the Los Angeles Office of the Taiwan Tourism Administration.
Repeat visitors accounted for 42.25% of international arrivals in 2025, matching the pre-pandemic level recorded in 2019. Beginning Oct. 10, 2026, eligible repeat travelers can join the "Return to Taiwan, Double Your Luck" program for a chance to win a NT$5,000 travel spending credit, plus an additional NT$3,000 for an accompanying friend or relative.
The event also featured Taiwan Tourism Ambassador Chen Ming-Chu, a cross-genre Taiwanese opera performance by Tsai Yu-Lun, and a Cha San Dai tea experience.
